Europubhealth + is a master degree in Law applied in the health field with an ethical scope, from the Erasmus Mundus programme. It’s supported by the European Commission and benefit from the european excellence certification label. With its great number of partners in Europe, this 120 ECTS 2 year-programme can begin in Master 1 either in the Public Health University of Grenade or in the Public Health University of Sheffield and be carried on in Master 2 in the Law Faculté of Rennes 1.

The best applicants will be able to get a Erasmus Mundus scholarship. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is the 11th of january 2018, and the 8th of May for self-funding applications.

This master might interest people sensitive to health thematics, having a degree in health sciences, social sciences or ingeneering, who wish to study in several european countries and speak english, french or/and spanish. It gives a real international opportunity since its network is made up of 250 foreign students from 70 different nationalities.

Admission Requirements

Europubhealth+ is a two-year full time programme open to students with diverse but complementary profiles drawn from:
    • health / medical sciences (including doctors, nurses, veterinaries, pharmacists, biologists...)
    • social sciences (including sociology, economics, psychology, anthropology, geography, political sciences, law...)
    • engineers
To be eligible, you must fulfil the following conditions agreed by the Consortium:
    • having at least a university Bachelor degree (180 ECTS) or certified equivalent in one of the disciplines mentioned in the access profiles (a copy of your last degree is required when applying online or at the latest before the beginning of the course if you are currently finishing your Bachelor studies)
    • being proficient in the languages suitable for the mobility combinations chosen: English; English+Spanish; English+French; Spanish+English+French (mandatory copies of language proficiency tests meeting the minimum admission requirements must be provided when applying online)
    • submitting a complete online application, together with all mandatory documents required (diplomas, certificates, language certificates, letters of recommendation, etc.) before the indicated deadline.

Language requirements

Students who wish to go to Sheffield for their first year (foundation course) are required to have a C1 Level (CEFR table) in English language. Only the following tests with corresponding scores will be accepted as language proficiency proof: 

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System): overall score of 6.5 or above with at least 6.0 in each component
  • TOEFL (iBT): overall score of 88 or above, with at least 20 in Reading, 19 in Listening, 22 in Speaking, 19 in Writing
  • PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) : 61 or above overall, with at least 56 in each component
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): overall score of 176 or above with at least 169 in each component

Test results must be less than 2 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than 17 Sept. 2016).

Other acceptable qualifications:

  • Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) GCE O Level, English (eg Brunei O Level, Singapore O Level): Grade C or above. Please note that we only accept the Malaysian O Level alongside the required grade in the 1119 (see below)
  • Botswana BGCSE, English: Grade C or above
  • Cameroon GCE O Level, English: Grade C or above
  • West Indies Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate, English: Grade I or II
  • Hong Kong AS Level Use of English: Grade C or above
  • Indian Standard XII, English Language: 70% or above
  • Kenyan Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), English: Grade B or above (Please note that we do not accept Grade B- in the KCSE English)
  •  Malaysian 1119 syllabus (UCLES): Grade B or above
  • Mauritius Cambridge Overseas School Certificate (COSC) English Language: Grade C or above
  • Namibian HIGCSE, English or Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC), Higher English: Grade C or above
  • Singapore Integrated Programme (IP): Students should go on to complete A Level or IB qualifications
  • National Examinations Council of Tanzania – Certificate of Secondary Education Examination, English: Grade C or above
  • Ugandan Certificate of Education (UCE): Grade 6 or above 
  • WAEC West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE), English: Grade C or above
  • Zambian General Certificate of Education, English: Grade C or above 

If these tests were completed more than 5 years before the start date of the course (i.e. if they are older than 17 Sept. 2013), please also include with your application any evidence of ongoing use of English.

A B2 level in Spanish (CEFR table) is required for the first year foundation course in Granada or for the second year specialisation in "Health Promotion", that is to say:
DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera): Intermediate level
Test results must be less than 3 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than Sept 2015).
 
Candidates exempted from providing a Spanish test
Applicants do not have to provide any Spanish language test in two cases only:
- if they are citizens of a majority native Spanish speaking country: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Urugauy and Venezuela.
- if they hold a previous degree delivered by a higher education institution located in a majority native Spanish speaking country as listed above.

Any applicant who does not meet either of the two above mentioned conditions must provide proof of Spanish proficiency complying with the minimum admission requirements (applications without language proficiency proof will not be considered).

A B2 Level in French (CEFR table) is mandatory for the "Law, Health and Ethics" and "Health policy and programmes management" specialisations (University Rennes 1 / EHESP Rennes), that is to say:

  • DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française) and DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française): B2 of the new grid (or second level : A5 + A6)
  • TCF (Test de connaissance du français) 450
  • TEF (Test d'Evaluation du Français) 585

Test results must be less than 3 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than Sept 2015).

Candidates exempted from providing a French test

Applicants do not have to provide any French language test in two cases only:

  • if they are citizens of a majority native French speaking country: Bénin, Burkina Faso, Congo - Brazzaville, Côte d'Ivoire, France, Gabon, Guinée - Conakry, Mali, Niger, République Démocratique du Congo, Sénégal, Togo. Citizens of the following countries must also show that they have followed their whole secondary education in French: Belgium, Burundi, Canada, Cameroun, Centrafrique, Comores, Djibouti, Haïti, Madagascar, Mauritanie, Rwanda, Seychelles, Suisse, Tchad, Vanuatu.
  • if they hold a previous degree delivered by a higher education institution located in a majority native French speaking country as listed above.

Any applicant who does not meet either of the two above mentioned conditions must provide proof of French proficiency complying with the minimum admission requirements (applications without language proficiency proof will not be considered).

Participation costs

Participation costs for the EUROPUBHEALTH+ programme for 2018 intake are as follow:

  • 16.000 € for the two years of study for Non-European students
  • 11.000 € for the two years of study for European students*.

* European Students are citizens of the 28 member states of the European Union and Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey.

Participation fee includes:

  • Enrolment in all the teaching units and modules and access to related educational resources
  • Access to library, document centers and related services
  • Social events during integration modules in Rennes
  • Examination, diploma and certificate

Participation fee does not include accommodation, food, international travel, travel on site or visa costs.

The best candidates can benefit from a Erasmus Mundus scholarship including exemption from registration fees and a monthly grant.

Erasmus Mundus Scholarship

The Europubhealth+ consortium awards Erasmus+: Erasmus Mundus scholarships to the best candidates who apply before the indicated deadline each year.

  • Programme Countries are the 28 EU member states, Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Turkey. A Partner Country is any other country of the world that is not a Programme Country as mentioned above.
  • Students are considered as Partner Countries students when:
    • They are citizens of a Partner Country.
    • They are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any Programme Country (This five-year reference period is calculated backwards as from January 2018 The 12-months residency rule should not apply to the candidates who for various reasons and under various circumstances have sought refuge and received a refugee status in a Programme Country).
    • Students with a Partner Country citizenship who do not fulfil the Partner Country criteria defined above (12-months rule) count as Programme Country students.
  • Students whose citizenship is one of the Programme Countries count as Programme Country students.
  • Students with a double nationality (of a Partner and of a Programme Country) must specify the nationality under which they submit their application.

Scholarship amount

EMJMD scholarships cover travel expenses, participation costs and living costs for the entire duration of the Master course (max. 47,000€ for the two-year course). The total amount of the grant can vary according to the nationality and the place of residence of the scholarship holder. Therefore, a proof of the current place of residence at the time of application is mandatory to provide at application stage when applying for a scholarship.

To be eligible for an Erasmus+:Erasmus Mundus scholarship, applicants must meet both:
The Europubhealth+ admission requirements and be selected by the Europubhealth+ Selection Committee to join the course.
The Erasmus Mundus eligibility criteria that are specific to the scholarship:

  • Students who have already obtained an Erasmus Mundus scholarship at Master/Doctoral level are not eligible for an additional scholarship within the Europubhealth+ programme.
  • Students benefiting from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship cannot benefit from another EU grant while pursuing their Europubhealth+ studies.
  • Students benefiting from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship cannot benefit from another EU grant while pursuing their Europubhealth+ studies
  • Students can apply to a maximum of three different Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees.
  • Scholarship holders spending part of the Europubhealth+ course in their country of residence are not entitled to benefit from the monthly subsistence allowance for this period.
  • Students must be committed to studying full time during the two years of the Europubhealth+ Master course.
